Paint Mix Technician

Electron Technical Solutions is a leader in finishing, decorating and assembly of automotive plastic components and we are looking for a Paint Mix Technician to join our highly successful team on a permanent basis.

The primary function of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective supply of paint to all paint plants, ensuring all activities associated with this role are conducted in line with company guidelines and procedures and to provide support to the supervisor and plant operator when necessary, the key responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Creating predefined paint mixes in the correct volume, to the correct quality, in the correct timeframe and delivered to the point of use at the correct time.
  • Cleaning and flushing of paint delivery systems, conducting paint changes and reporting immediately, any adverse conditions which could have a detrimental impact on the output from the paint plant.
  • The managing of defined paint stock levels in all kitchens and stores and identifying and reporting any discrepancies from the predetermined stock levels.
  • Ensuring all paint quantities are measured and mixed within the tolerances defined in the mix sheet and the procedures outlined on the work instructions.
  • To maintain a high level of housekeeping in the paint kitchens and to ensure all housekeeping routines are completed to the correct standard and at the defined frequency.
  • To ensure all testing/SOP’s are carried out at the predetermined frequency using approved/calibrated equipment and are conducted in accordance with the training received and or documented procedures.
  • To ensure all equipment is maintained to the appropriate standard and any deviation is reported immediately.
  • Identify areas for improvement and assist with implementing solutions.

Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health and safety and environmental    requirements.

  • Ensure effective communication through clear and concise written handovers and verbal communication.
  • Provide support to other areas of the business when required.

This is a very fast moving business and the candidate must be highly motivated with an ability to learn new concepts quickly and accurately.  Excellent communication skills are required in addition to problem solving and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of lean manufacturing processes and 5S philosophy. A qualification within an engineering discipline would be an advantage, but not essential. This is a twenty four hours operation, working a 3 shift system (days, nights, afternoons) and you must have a flexible approach to working.

In return we offer bespoke training and development, and a competitive salary of £12.51 per hour.

Trainee Robot Plant Operator

Salary £30K, leading to £31,700K on completion of training

Electron Technical Solutions is a leader in finishing, decorating and assembly of automotive plastic components and we are looking for a Trainee Robot Plant Operator to join our highly successful team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor/Senior Plant Technician, the primary function of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Robotic and manual paint plants, ensuring all activities associated with this role are conducted in line with company guidelines and procedures and to provide support to the Supervisor and Paint Mix Technicians in the diagnosis of adverse running conditions.         Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Test to ensure the cleanliness of the plant is to the highest standard prior to any restart and be the authority to give the go ahead for the plant to start.
  • Maintain the condition of all spray gun equipment to the highest level of the approved standard.
  • To ensure all testing/Sop’s are carried out at the predetermined frequency using approved/calibrated equipment and are conducted in accordance with the training received and/or documented procedures.
  • To ensure the efficient and accurate input of information into the HMI.
  • Review plans to ensure the most efficient use of capacity and identify any problems at the earliest opportunity.
  • To continually monitor and correctly interpret the running conditions of all plants and react to adverse running conditions by providing logical analysis, diagnosis and execution of actions to influence a positive outcome.
  • To conduct accurate first off inspection ensuring the early diagnosis of potential problems.
  • Ensure all waste is managed in accordance with environmental, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • To ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard and any deviation is reported immediately.
  • Identify areas for improvement and assist with implementing solutions.
  • To ensure preventative maintenance activities are conducted at the predetermined frequency, to the highest standard and to provide feedback if any adverse conditions are observed.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health and safety and environmental requirements.

On successful completion of training, you will be appointed as Robot Plant Operator.

This is a very fast moving business and the candidate must be highly motivated with an ability to learn new concepts quickly and accurately.  Excellent communication skills are required in addition to problem solving and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of lean manufacturing processes and 5S philosophy. Ideally candidates will also have experience in a similar role and preference will be given to candidates with robotic paint experience. A qualification within an engineering discipline would be an advantage, but not essential. This is a twenty four hours operation, working a 3 shift rotating pattern, therefore you must have a flexible approach to working.
